Scott Taylor is the varsity kicking coach and head softball coach.
His wife is Kimberly Taylor. He has four children, Skyllar-12, Vicki-9, Montana-8, and Kimma-9 months.
Taylor attended Blooming Grove High School and graduated from Texas A&M Commerce.
This is Scott’s 3rd season at Waco High and he teaches at Lake Air Middle School.
Scott was previously with Dawson High School for 3 years where he coached high school and jr. high football, track, powerlifting, and cross country.
He enjoys spending time with my family and playing golf.
A native of Eufaula, Alabama, Earl lettered in football
and basketball at Eufaula High School.
Farley attended Paul Quinn College where he received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education.
Farley began his coaching career at Barbers Hill ISD for 3 years before moving to the Waco ISD.
Coach Farley taught for 13 years at G.L. Wiley Middle School.
This is his 11th yearat Waco High.
He and his wife, Linda, are active members at CarverPark Baptist Church, and his interests include golf, traveling, movies and working with kids.
In his spare time you can Earl and Linda and their daughters Andria and DeLisa doing something together.
DeLisa will be attendig T.C.U. this fall on a full basketball scholarship and Andria plays basketball and runs track for Waco High.
Earl’s wife teaches at Moutainview Elementary School.
Chris Leonard is in his 4th year as the athletic trainer at Waco High.
He grew up on a farm in Clearfield, Iowa and attended Mount Ayr High School where he was active in sports.
Chris graduated from Iowa State University with degrees in Animal Science and Athletic Training.
His athletic training assignments while at Iowa State included football, men’s track and field, men’s hockey, and Ames HS.
Before coming to Waco, Chris worked with the Dallas Cowboys as an athletic training intern.
Chris is a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Texas, a nationally certified athletic trainer, and a certified strength and conditioning specialist.
Chris’s wife’s name is Shilo and she will be teaching pre-k at Brook Avenue this year.
They have a young boy named Wyatt that will be two years old in January and are also expecting another child in November.
Sam Price’s football legacy began at Booker T. Washington High School in Texarkana, Arkansas playing on the varsity as an eighth grade student.
At Arkansas High, Price was an All-State and All-Conference athlete in football and track.
Price played on scholarship at Mississippi Valley State University where he was also an All-American, All- Conference player, earning his bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education.
In 1973 Coach Price returned to Texarkana and began his career as a teacher and coach with three state championships.
In 1979 the Price family moved to Waco and joined the coaching staff at Jefferson-Moore High School.
He coached football, basketball, and track and has coached a combination of those since 1986 at Waco High as the schools consolidated.
Coach Price is most appreciative of his wife, Joyce, and son Ondrej, and he cherishes the opportunity to coach some of the most outstanding athletes in the state and in the nation and believes there to be no better place than Waco, Texas.
Derrick Keller has spent the last two years coaching in the middle school system under Waco High where he coached football, soccer, basketball and track.
This will be his first year coaching in the high school where he will be coaching freshman football and girl’s soccer.
After graduating from Missouri State University with a Bachelor Degree in Economics, he entered the business world where he was a manager for a Fortune 500 Company.
Spending 7 years in business, Coach Keller finally gave in to his dream of teaching and coaching.
Derrick graduated from Ozark High School in Ozark, Missouri.
While in high school, Derrick played varsity football, baseball, track, and was a member of the swim team.
Derrick is the oldest of three children, both siblings and parents reside in Missouri.
He has one son, Adam, who is 6 years old.
Brian Strickland joined the Waco High athletic program in 2006 and serves as the Head Baseball and Freshman Football Coach.
Strickland made his way to Waco after spending time as the Head Coach at Hill College, the pitching coach at Texas Tech.
While at Dallas Baptist and Abilene Christian, Strickland served as the pitching and catching coach as well as recruiting coordinator.
He helped lead DBU to 5 regional tournaments and 2 World Series appearances. He helped lead ACU to the Lone Star Conference Championship and Regional Tournament appearances in 2000 and 2001.
Since 1994, Coach Strickland has recruited and coached 37 players who have been drafted or signed professional contracts, 9 in the Top 10 rounds of the MLB Draft.
Strickland has also served as the Head Coach for the Graham Roughnecks of the Texas Collegiate League, leading them to the championship round in their first season. He also saw stints in the New England Collegiate League and currently serves as the head coach for the Waco Storm select baseball team.
While in college, Strickland was a standout pitcher for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where he helped lead his team to the NAIA World Series Runner-Up in 1992 and finished as the all-time save leader. He received his degree in Physical Education from Mary Hardin-Baylor in 1994 and earned his Master’s degree in Liberal Arts from Dallas Baptist University in 1998.
He and his wife Michelle have two children Hunter (10) and Hailey(1) and reside in Leroy.
Donald Harris, a Jefferson Moore High School graduate, enters his 6th year in teaching and coaching for Waco ISD.
He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Donald played football and baseball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders where he earned Southwest Conference Newcomer of the Year in football, and was an All-Conference player in baseball.
Donald’s athleticism earned him the opportunity to play baseball with the Texas Rangers, and he was also drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.
Donald has three children, Demisha, Jennifer and Donovan. They enjoy playing softball, basketball and volleyball.
Kevin Compton hails from Allover, TX and is beginning his 10th year coaching.
He has been coaching for Waco ISD since 2002.
Coach Compton coaches the secondary and is the varsity assistant baseball coach.
He is married to his beautiful wife Caryl who also teaches for Waco ISD.
Between them, they have five boys, Andrew, a senior at Waco High, Kyle, a senior at Hawley High, Ross, a sophomore at Hawley High, Matthew, a freshman at Waco High, and Koby, a second-grader at Hawley.
When he is not working, Coach Compton can most often be found on the road between Waco and Hawley (just north of Abilene).
This leaves little time for hobbies, however Coach Compton does enjoy traveling, photography, eating and nature.
Born in Texarkana, Arkansas, Tom Price was educated at Arkansas High School and Mississippi Valley State where he graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor’s of Science in PE.
Recognized as an All-Conference and All-American player his senior year, and as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Tom decided to enter the coaching ranks in 1975 at Pine Street Junior High in Texarkana, Texas.
In 1977, he moved to Waco and became a defensive line and defensive ends coach at Richfield High School, and of course Waco High where he has coached since 1986.
Coach Price’s motto has always been to reflect high moral character, integrity and honesty and the Christian ideals that are so important in the leadership of young men.
Tom and his wife, Yulander enjoy traveling, reading, and spending quality time with the family. They have two sons, Brandon and Jeremy, a daughter-in-law; Shamika, and a grand-daughter Zariyah
A Waco native, James Stewart attended and graduated from Waco High School in 1997.
He also attended and graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 2001 located in San Marcos, TX where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration focusing in Management and Finance.
James lettered three years under Coach Johnny Tusa while playing football for Waco High between the 1994 to 1996 seasons and currently holds the single-season receiving record of 67 receptions in a season.
He also lettered all four years in football while playing for the SWT Bobcats under Coach Bob DeBesse during the 1997 to 2000 seasons tying the single-game reception record with 12 receptions in a game.
James brings seven years of teaching and coaching experience while working in Waco ISD.
He and his wife, Ebony, are active members at Greater New Light Church and are expecting their first child in the fall. Their favorite activities include traveling, movies, and spending time with family.
Coach Ryan Graves
A product of WISD, Ryan graduated from Waco High School.
He attended Texas State University and graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce University with a degree in Human Health Performance and Kinesiology.
Ryan played football and track in college where he earned freshmen of the year honors and was on the championship track team.
Coach Graves went on to become a 4 year starter while receiving All Southland and All Lone Star Conference honors as well as Lone Star Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year and a 3-time national qualifier in shot put.
Last season Ryan worked with the offensive and defensive line and in the spring was he was the shot and disc coach for boys and girls. Those athletes produced 2 regional qualifiers and a 6th place finisher in the girl’s shot put at state.
He and his wife Krystal were high school sweethearts and have been married for 1year. They are both active members at Clay St. Christian Church and enjoy family and traveling.
Born into a family of coaches, Rudolph’s father coached at East Central High School, and his brother is currently the offensive line coach at Southeast Louisiana University in Hammond, La.
Greg is the varsity defensive line coach and assistant baseball coach.
He graduated from East Central High School in Hurley, Miss., where he played football and baseball.
After high school, Rudolph played football for two years at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and then moved on to play at Delta State University for two more years where they won the conference championship.
Greg’s coaching career started at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark., where he spent seven years coaching the outside linebackers, inside linebackers, defensive line, punters and kickers.
Following that stint, Rudolph became the defensive coordinator and secondary coach at Arkadelphia High School for two years before moving to Waco.
This will be Coach Rudolph’s second season at Waco High.
Greg’s wife of two years, the former Karen Sines of Killeen, Texas is currently employed at MCC in the marketing office.
Jim Bradley brings twenty-nine years of coaching experience to Waco High.
Coach Bradley is from Las Cruces, New Mexico where he played at Mayfield High and went on to play football at New Mexico State University.
After graduating from NMSU, Jim followed in his dad’s footsteps and started his coaching career at Mayfield, where he was defensive coordinator for three years.
After a one year stint at NMSU coaching linebackers, Coach Bradley became the head coach at Santa Fe High School for two seasons.
Coach Bradley received a call from his old boss at Mayfield and journeyed to Texas where he coached at Spring High School for the next eighteen years, with his last fourteen as the offensive coordinator. The last two years, Coach Bradley coordinated the Chapin High School offense in El Paso.
Jim and his wife DeAnna have twins, Trevor and Marisa (5), and Jim’s daughter Krystyn(16) is a junior at Klein High School in Spring.
Coach Smith is the Co-Defensive Passing Game Coordinator at Waco High.
He and his wife, Staci, are beginning their 4th year in Waco.
Coach Smith is a 2001 Graduate of University of the Southwest in Hobbs, NM.
He teaches Chemistry and TAKS Science.
Staci is an Assistant District Attorney here in Waco and is a graduate of Baylor Law School.
Coach Smith is also beginning his first year as the Head Track Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Waco High.
Co-Defensive Coordinator and linebacker coach, Marty Herbst, is beginning his 22nd year of coaching.
For 17 years, Coach Herbst has served the students and community in Waco ISD.
He served as the coordinator for the 2006 state championship runners up, and has been an integral part of the defensive success at Waco High.
A defensive mind, Coach Herbst has contributed to the defensive prowess at Waco High for years and is a staple and fixture in the program.
Prior to his time in Waco ISD, Coach Herbst was employed in Bay City.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University where he met his wife, Cindy. Together they have two daughters: Lyssa, a senior at the University of Texas and Lynn, a high school senior.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
Andrew Paul Huebner - Offensive Coordinator: Andrew was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and has been a high school football coach for the past nine years.
He has served as the offensive coordinator for Thomas Edison High School in San Antonio, TX for the past two years.
A graduate of Texas State University in 2001, Andrew started his teaching and coaching career at Thomas Jefferson High School where he served as an assistant coach for one year, the head freshmen coach for two years and the Varsity offensive line coach for two years.
He then moved to Houston, TX where he was the offensive line coach at Cypress Creek High School for one year.
Andrew is the son of Michael and Tuddie Jones, and Leonel and Gerry Rodriguez. He has two siblings: Kandis Jones, 21 who attends Texas A&M University and Jazz Jones, 10..
Born in Houston, Texas, Danny Ramsey begins his head coaching career here at Waco High with a wide variety of experience and a fresh approach to the game.
He is married with three daughters, Ashley, 6, Grace, 4, and EmmyJo. Coach Ramsey’s wife, Pam, will also be at Waco High this fall and will teach Geometry. Ashley and Grace will both attend Mountainview Elementary School.
Coach Ramsey has his Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary studies with a major in Music and Minors in ESL and Sociology. He also has his Masters in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.
Coach Ramsey played for Emory Bellard, the inventor of the wishbone offense, and has a firm grasp of the triple option offense which will be incorporated in the new Waco High approach, and he was blessed to have coached and played for Steve Kazor. Kazor was the special teams’ coordinator and assistant offensive line coach for the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears under Mike Ditka and the Detroit Lions working with Tom Moore, offensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts.
His knowledge of the contemporary passing game comes from the best in the business, and it too will be intricately woven into the offense at Waco High.
Ramsey has coached in college where he recruited from the states of Hawaii, Washington, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kansas, and Texas. He had 6 All-conference players including the tight end, which was a unanimous choice, and had one player ultimately make it to the NFL from that group. Ramsey coached at Houston Christian and followed that stint with an offensive coordinating job at Marlin High school where his offense got them to the quarterfinals and defeated the likes of 4A Midway, perennial power Mart, and at the time, number 1 state ranked 4A team Ennis.
Getting closer to home, the Ramsey’s moved to Spring High School for one year, and Coach Ramsey moved on to be the offensive coordinator at Cypress Creek High School. His offenses average over 400 yards and 34 points a game for the 5 seasons with the pinnacle coming last year at a clip of 520 yards and 40 points a game.
In his coaching career, Coach Ramsey has assisted the development of players to attend such schools as the University of Houston, McPherson College, Tabor College, Briar cliff University, the University of Arkansas, Wayne State University, Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, Howard Payne University, Steven F. Austin State University, and Baylor University.
